Proof

After the death of a famous math professor, his daughter Catherine and his ex-graduate student Hal comb through his notebooks to find a groundbreaking mathematical proof. But a question around its authorship poses a problem — both for Catherine and Hal’s relationship and any claim they might make to represent the truth.  In this Pulitzer Prize winning play, David Auburn invites us to solve a complex problem that has many unknowable factors. Proof goes beyond numbers on a page to demonstrate that sometimes discovering the truth is not as simple as QED.
